YOUSEF TAALAB
ARCHITECT & PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST
SHARJAH BIENNIAL 15

My Role

During my tenure with the Sharjah Art Foundation (SAF) on a temporary contract, I was pivotal in coordinating the production and preparation of exhibition spaces for Sharjah Biennial Edition 15. This internationally acclaimed event spanned 11 distinct venues across multiple cities and encompassed over 25 sub-galleries. My responsibilities extended to overseeing the detailed preparation of these venues to accommodate a wide range of artistic installations.

I collaborated closely with artists and technical teams to ensure that each space met the unique specifications of the exhibited artworks, maintaining the highest standards of quality and artistic integrity. Additionally, I supported fellow production coordinators, providing hands-on assistance in managing logistics, timelines, and the seamless execution of complex installation processes. This experience honed my ability to handle multifaceted projects, adapt to dynamic challenges, and contribute to the realization of large-scale, multi-venue cultural events.

Project Goal

The Sharjah Biennial is a platform for artists to showcase contemporary art and cultural programs in Sharjah and beyond. It aims to reflect on its history and support dialogue and art production outside the West.
